Step by step, we’ll guide you through the beautiful, quiet mountains around Lillehammer and Hafjell.

Our path leads gently through snow-covered forests and across open white plains, where silence, wide views, and winter light create a truly special atmosphere. There’s no rush – plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings, take photos, and simply be present.

Along the way, we’ll stop for a cosy break with Norwegian snacks and hot drinks, giving you a taste of how locals enjoy winter outdoors.

How to get there

We offer snowshoe hikes in two different locations: Nordseter & Hafjell.

Both starting points are easily accessible by public transport or by car. See more information below. Start & length of the hikes are adjusted to the bus schedule.

Important information!

To stay comfortable, we recommend dressing in layers that can be adjusted as needed. A waterproof outer layer, along with gloves, a hat, and warm socks, is essential to stay warm in winter.

Hikes may be cancelled or rescheduled due to weather conditions.

Practical information

  • We offer snowshoe hikes in Nordseter and Hafjell. Both starting points are accessible by public transport & car.

    If you’re staying in Lillehammer, we recommend our hike in Nordseter. If you are staying in Hafjell or Øyer, we recommend our hike there.

    For private hikes in other locations please get in touch with us directly.

  • The hike lasts for about 3 to 3.5 hours.

  • The groups are small, with a maximum of 10 participants per guide.

    To ensure the best experience, each hike requires a minimum of 2 participants.

  • Adults and children from 10 years old, perfect for families, a group of friends, or solo.

    Families with younger children can book a private hike. Contact us for more information.

Under the night sky and surrounded by snow-covered trees, we will walk at an easy pace through the calm mountains around Nordseter. Far from city lights, the winter night feels closer, quieter, and more magical – a memory you’ll carry long after the snow has melted.

Our guided hikes run on selected dates and include all equipment, a cosy break with hot drinks and Norwegian snacks, and plenty of time to enjoy the atmosphere.

Nordseter

The meeting point & start of the hike is at the final bus stop in Nordseter. Start & length of the hike are adjusted to the bus schedule.

 

By Bus

From Lillehammer skysstasjon (train station) the bus leaves approx. every two hours. The bus ride takes about 25 minutes.

Bus: 500 Nordseter

Bus stops: Lillehammer skysstasjon → Nordseter (final stop)

By Car

Nordseter is easily accessible by car. There is a big parking lot next to the starting point of the hike.

It’s a 20 min drive from Lillehammer city.

Please note: On our night-time hikes a return by bus is unfortunately not possible. For guests travelling by public transport we will help to arrange a taxi transfer to get back to Lillehammer after the hike.


Hafjell

The meeting point & start of the hike is at the Hundersætervegen P-plass next to Ilsetra. Start & length of the hike are adjusted to the bus schedule.

 

By Bus

From the bus stop Nermo in Hafjell the bus leaves approx. every 2 hours. The bus ride takes about 15-20 minutes.

By Car

The starting point of the hike is easily accessible by car. There is a big parking lot available.

It’s a 15 minute drive from Nermo Hotell and approx. 35 minutes from Lillehammer city.
