Born in the vast, windswept wilderness of Northern Norway, Silje carries the spirit of the Sámi people into everything she does – respect for nature, quiet strength, and a deep connection to the snow-covered landscape. She founded SWIG AS to share the magic of Norway with visitors who want more than just a lesson – they want an experience.
Silje spent her youth racing through Arctic trails, building the skill, resilience, and fierce determination that still define her today. Now she transforms that expertise into warm, welcoming guidance for beginners.
Silje’s mission is simple: to give every guest the feeling of gliding through winter the way Norwegians have for generations – free, confident, and completely alive.

Originally from Northern Germany, Renée moved to Lillehammer to live closer to nature and the mountains – and quickly found herself right at home in the Norwegian outdoors. Always an outdoorsy person, it was here that skiing, especially cross-country skiing, grew into a true passion of hers.
Renée spends almost every day outside, whether it’s gliding on skis along the endless tracks around Lillehammer, snowshoeing through snowy forests, or hiking and running through the hills in summer – always accompanied by her dog. Being in nature is not just something she does – it’s how she lives.
With some experience guiding guests and teaching the basics of cross-country skiing, Renée loves helping others feel safe, confident, and excited on skis. She enjoys connecting with guests from all over the world and introducing them to Norwegian friluftsliv – sharing both the joy of winter and the quiet magic of life outdoors.
